Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Tau Omega Zeta Chapter was chartered on September 23, 2004 in Towson, Maryland. The chapter was chartered on the drive and desire of fifteen members to broaden Zeta’s impact in the communities and became the second graduate chapter in Baltimore County. The members immediately got busy by collaborating with the Founder of the Baltimore Natural Hair Care Expo and recruited community service activities, Z-HOPE and other informational vendors to the expo. They collaborated with the Regional F. Lewis Museum and did Z-HOPE activities during their Kwanzaa Celebration.

Tau Omega Zeta collaborated with the military and adopted the USS Juneau in Japan, sending care packages and cards of encouragements to sailors and encouraging the male and females on the ship to pursue college degrees. While the ship was in the Persian Gulf, the chapter nominated one of their Petty Officer to receive an award from the International Affairs Division. They escorted the sailor’s mother to the United Nations in New York, New York to receive the award on her son’s behalf.

The chapter adopted families for Thanksgiving and Christmas, providing food packages and small gifts. They also adopted the Cockeysville Pal Center, where they did activities with the youth. They walked and raised funds for the March of Dimes – Premature Babies and Avon Breast Cancer.
